Our Story

This ministry began with small group conversations over coffee in the summer 2014. In October 2014, a community meeting was held in Dilworth for people interested in jail ministry. In follow-up conversations and prayer with those who indicated an interest in being on a steering committee, the Board of Directors was formed in January 2015. The next months were spent working on organizational issues and in June 2015, our mission statement was defined, our statement of faith articulated, and we received our 501(c)(3) designation.

We opened our first transitional home for men in April of 2017, a home for women in 2018, and a second men’s home in 2019. To date we have served over 150 men and women coming out of incarceration and in recovery.

While there has been a worship service in the Clay County Correctional Facility for decades, daily programming started taking place in the fall of 2018. We currently have 20+ volunteers that facilitate a variety of faith-based classes during the week. We also support ministry efforts at the West Central Juvenile Center in Moorhead.
